About Apple Pay

Apple Pay offers an easy, secure, and private way to pay on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and MacBook.

The Apple Pay spending limit is the same spending limit that otherwise applies to your card.

In “one” you can view all the transactions made with your card. When you tap a card in Wallet, you see the latest transactions for each card.

If you've set up your Apple Watch with Apple Pay, you can check your transaction history in the Watch app on your iPhone. In the Watch app, just tap Wallet & Apple Pay, tap your card, and tap the Transactions tab.

Check your card’s transaction overview in the “one” app. Contact your card provider’s customer service team if you have any further questions.

Getting started

Yes. "one" is the digital service for your card that gives you a comprehensive overview of your spending at all times. The personal details (e-mail address, mobile number etc.) you store in "one" are required for the security check conducted when you activate Apple Pay.

Here's what you need to use Apple Pay:

  • An eligible device
  • A card from your card provider that offers Apple Pay
  • The latest version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS
  • An Apple ID signed in to iCloud.

In stores, you can use Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch. Within apps, you can use Apple Pay on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. On the web in Safari, you can use Apple Pay on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

To use Apple Pay with Safari on a Mac model without built-in Touch ID, you might need to check your settings. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay and make sure that Allow Payments on Mac is turned on.

Paying with Apple Pay

Yes. Comprehensive security measures apply to payment confirmations (authorisation) as well as data protection.

Apple Pay uses security features built-in to the hardware and software of your device to help protect your transactions. In addition, to use Apple Pay, you must have a passcode set on your device and, optionally, Face ID or Touch ID. You can use a simple passcode, or you can set a more complex passcode for even greater security.

Apple Pay is also designed to protect your personal information. Apple doesn’t store or have access to the original credit, debit, or prepaid card numbers that you use with Apple Pay. And when you use Apple Pay with credit, debit, or prepaid cards, Apple doesn't retain any transaction information that can be tied back to you—your transactions stay between you, the merchant or developer, and your bank or card issuer.

When you add a credit, debit or prepaid card to Apple Pay, information that you enter on your device is encrypted and sent to Apple servers. If you use the camera to enter the card information, the information is never saved on your device or photo library.

Apple decrypts the data, determines your card’s payment network, and re-encrypts the data with a key that only your payment network (or any providers authorised by your card issuer for provisioning and token services) can unlock.

Use Apple Pay wherever you see one of these symbols. Apple Pay can also be used internationally.

Managing your cards

You can go to your Apple ID account page or use the Find My iPhone app on an iPhone or iPad to suspend or permanently remove the ability to pay from that device with Apple Pay. Your cards will be suspended or removed from Apple Pay even if your device is offline and not connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network. Transactions are still possible using the physical card.

You can also report the loss to your card provider or block the physical card in the “one” app. All virtual cards will also be blocked as a result.
